A fine Bronze Thai Buddha head from the 15th - 16th Century. Bronze with a beautiful emerald green patination, clay core is intact. No damage to either ear or usnisa, the flame finnial or cranial protuberance on the crown of his head. Head in near perfect condition with no repairs or restoration, down cast eyes with serene expression and elongated ears. Mounted on original wooden display stand. Height (not including mount) 4.75” tall. Superb piece.

Extremely rare and sort after Peninsular Thai head and bust of a bronze Buddha, Chieng Sen period 15th Century. Bronze with green patination and remains of gold leaf & small amounts of brown lacquer remaining in recessed areas. The clay core is intact and visible in the photographs. Head in perfect condition with no repairs or damage to the facial features, down cast eyes with serene expression elongated ears and large mouth typical of this period. Professionally mounted on a beautiful display stand. Height (not including mount) 4.75” tall x 2.75” wide at shoulders. Superb piece.

BURMESE STONE BUDDHA HEAD

A Sandstone carved Buddha head with black lacquer and gold leaf. Buddhas such as this would have been placed in niches around a temple. The face is extremely nice with no damage to the features. A wonderful smile with downcast eyes and large stylised elongated ear lobes, wearing a conical crown. 17-18th century. Professionally mounted on a display stand.

BURMESE WOODEN BUDDHA 19th Century

19th Century Burmese sitting Buddha on a tall wasted pedestal, The Buddha wears a three tiered crown, necklace and bracelets. Around the front of the base is Burmese script, probably information about the donor of this image or the temple to which it was donated. The Buddha is decorated with gold leaf together with red and black pigments. This image is in excellent condition, small amount of termite damage to the underside, consistent with age.

A VERY RARE PAIR OF 17TH CENTURY BUDDHAS FROM VIETNAM

A Rare Pair of 17th century Vietnamese wooden Buddha images, although the images have suffered some wear and termite damage over their history, they are never-the-less rare examples of this type of image. The Buddhas are adhorned with lacquer scroll work in a highly detailed and ornate fashion, most of which is still intact, there are remains of the original gold leaf and red colour pigments remaining on both images, they would probably originally both had been wearing a crown type headdress. Sold as a pair.
