MAGNIFICENT CARVED GILT WOOD MANUSCRIPT COVER

Deeply carved, the central panel framed by a beaded enclosure and further surrounded by a lotus flower border depicting Prajnaparamita centre and flanked by Vairochana and Shakyamuni to each side, each within elaborate throne-niches surrounded by miniature Buddhas and addorsed animals and figures separated by foliate scrolls. Superb example and worthy of any museum collection.

Measurements: 28" (71cm) long x 11" (28.3cm) high x 1.75" (4.5cm) thick.
