Burmese Buddhist Palm leaf Manuscript (Kammavaca). Hand written lines of text in square letter form of black lacquer on gold leaf with wooden coverboards all beautifully executed. Superb decorative illustrations accompany the text. The book is complete and consists of 16 pages including two full illustration intro pages hand written on both sides, plus two decorated wooden coverboards. These manuscripts are now very hard to come by. All pages are hand written on dried palm leaves, no two are ever the same. Second half of 19th Century. We have had a number of these manuscripts in the past, all of which we have sold. We never expected to get any more in stock as they are very difficult to find, This example is in superb condition, definitely one of the best we have ever had, all pages are undamaged. The book is complete with no pages missing and the coverboards are the original ones, now extremely rare to find in this superb complete condition.
