WHITE MARBLE FIGURE OF A STANDING BODHISATTVA

A youthful Bodhisattva standing upon a styalised lotus pedestal, the slender torso carved in elongated stylized volumes with the hips slightly thrust to his left, as the weight is shifted while the right knee is bent forward. The clinging robes tightly wrapped around the figure with a folded belt to secure the long skirts falling with incised folds. A circular pectoral set with raised beads around his neck while the styalised flat hair is drawn up beneath a peaked tiara. The face is beautiful and serene with downcast eyes, elegant nose and lips forming a slight smile, backed by a large halo. Professionally mounted on a contemoprary bronze display stand
