A beautiful stucco museum quality Buddha head, modeled in the Graeco fashion with elegantly styled and gently smiling bow shaped mouth in the Hellenistic style, dated to the 2nd or 3rd century. The face is styled with a meditive expression, arched eyebrows and long aquiline nose. From Afghanistan, probably Hadda. Professionally mounted on a custom made stand, nice piece.
The face has sustained no repairs or restoration, left ear missing.
Height including stand: 8" high (20.5cm)

A large museum quality 2nd-3rd century Gandharan Stucco Head of Buddha Sakymuni. Nicely modeled in the classical Gandharan style. From Afghanistan, probably Hadda. The beautiful face is modelled with a meditive expression, arched eyebrows above heavy lidded eyes, gently smiling bow shaped lips red pigment remaining in places, elongated earlobes, hair swept backwards and terminating into an usnisa, small traces of original coloured pigments remaining, the nose is damaged, nice surface patina to the stucco surface.
The piece is in good condition with no repairs or restoration, nose damaged.
Height including stand: 9.5" high (24cm)

The distinctive face is modelled with a meditive expression, arched eyebrows above heavy lidded eyes, gently smiling bow shaped lips, elongated earlobe with large earrings, original red pifment remains in places, The hair terminats in a top knot and is decorated with a head band. Professionally mounted on a clear plexi glass stand with black metal rod.
