FINE KHMER APSARA FRIEZE

A fine Khmer, Angkor Wat period sandstone stele of a Devata or Apsara 12th century. The frieze consists of three panels carved in relief with a Apsara standing on a base, her left hand in front of her abdomen and the right stretched downwards and holding a lotus. She wears a decorated sampot. Her face with serene expression, broad nose, smiling lips, elongated earlobes with ear rings and her tiara decorated with three elaborate jewels.
