A very rare bronze Buddha head from the most sort after periods of Thai sculpture - U-Thong, type C. Typical of this classic period the face is oval with curving eyebrows, the tiny hair cirls are separated from the forehead by a fillet. Incisions outline the nostrils and the eyebrows with an incised line between the brow and the eye lids. The patina is a superb smooth surface with deep colouration and very small patches of green colouration in places, clay core, wonderful piece. Left ear missing. Mounted on a vintage custom made wooden stand.
